Inquiry Details
Section7_IssueSummary When doing a 4 wheel alignment does the book time for the alignment allow for resetting the steering angle sensor? Or is this a separate operation? Almost all new modern vehicles have this sensor and it needs to be zero'd out after the 4 wheel alignment is completed so that way the stability control, cameras, cruise control systems work properly. Most dealerships charge this as a separate item from the 4 wheel alignment. Section7_ProcedureSteps Plug in scan tool after alignment is complete and perform the zero point calibration of the steering angle sensor. Section7_ActualTime 1.0 hr mechanical time Section7_SuggestedAction Add this item in as a separate operation or adjust the time for the alignment to reflect it as included.
